Ash grew up in rural Saskatchewan and moved to Calgary for her Bachelor of Design from the Alberta University of the Arts (formerly ACAD). She is an art-director with five years experience where she works on campaigns, digital ads, social media, visual identities, and more.
by design
means that something was intentionally planned, created, or structured in a specific way to achieve a particular outcome or purpose. It implies that the result is not accidental but rather the product of deliberate decision-making and effort.
With 5 years in the agency world and a couple of those spent behind the art director title, I’ve had the chance to work across everything from big campaigns and brand identities to social content, motion, digital, and the occasional “we need this yesterday.” I’ve worked across a pretty wonderfully random mix of industries, which has taught me how to find the interesting angle in almost anything. These days, I’m leaning further into my craft, building confidence in my creative instincts, and figuring out how to make good ideas even better. Still early in the journey, but definitely just getting started.
